It's Friday and that means we have a brand new photo tutorial for you. Today our tutorial comes from our newest DT member, Emily Keaton! When I came up with my listing of different tutorials, I knew we had to do one on ink distressing. If you stay current on the "trends" in cardmaking, you know that ink distressing is super popular. While it's not a go-to technique for us DeNami friends, it's fun to see how to use it with DeNami stamps. Also, it's really not as hard as it appears. :)

Irish Tweety Bird Border

Hello, DeNami friends!

Now that Valentine's Day is almost here, we are starting to look to the next holiday here at the DeNami office. We're switching out the pinks and purples with lots of greens and browns. Can you guess the holiday we are looking forward to next? Yes, St. Patrick's Day! Last year we released our very first stamps for this holiday and we are excited to be bringing them to new light this year.

In case you missed the blog post yesterday, we have a brand new Product Spotlight stamp- it's the Tweety Bird Border! As I mentioned, this stamp can be used for any season (or holiday)....you can see this firsthand in the card below.

Have you checked out our St. Patrick's Day stamps before? While we only have a few (at this time), I have to say that these are really great ones. I was able to crank out twelve different cards using these stamps, along with a few others. You'll be able to see some of them towards the end of the month! *hint hint*

Hello, DeNami friends!

Can you believe we are a mere 7 days from Valentine's Day? Even though I have created quite a bit of Valentine items, I still have some more to make! Thankfully I have most of it started, just need to finish it all up before I see my friends! :)

Theme Challenge #11- Fabulous 3 Spotlight

Hello, DeNami friends!

I hope your weekend is off to a great start. We had so much happening here on the blog this week that I haven't had a chance to post the Fabulous 3 Spotlight until now. It's probably a good thing too- there were so many great entries it was SUPER hard to narrow it down to three.

I know in the past people have inquired as to how we pick the Fabulous 3 Spotlight. I thought I would let you know of some things we look for/ that usually catches our eye, when we are going through the entries.

3) Creativity of how DeNami stamp are used

Also, good pictures definitely help!

Bright Robots

Hi there,

Ready for a bright and fun boy themed card? Today I have one that I created a little while back, but was waiting to post until I had a boy theme here on the blog. I figured now would be a good time to bring it out. :)

The Friendly Robot is one of the most popular boy stamps we have. I definitely see why- it's a fun one to use, and you can't help but smile when you see it! Here's my take on how to use it in a unique way.

Did you notice that the robots are shiny? I used a product we sell called Crystal Lacquer to achieve this look. We created a video a year ago showcasing the different ways you can use the Lacquer. In case you missed the video before, here it is:

You're A Treasure

Hello!

Welcome to Day #3 of our boy theme week here on the DeNami blog. So far we have had some "cutesy" cards, so I thought I would bring you one that is a little more masculine. One person I have a REALLY tough time creating a card for: my dad. While he is definitely used to seeing glitter and rhinestones, I try my very hardest not to add them to his cards. I was pleasantly surprised when I finished this card- it's definitely masculine AND it doesn't use anything "girly".

I have loved the Under the Sea stamp set from the moment I saw the first sketch. It's so different from anything we had released before and there are so many ways you can use it! Below is just one way you can use these small stamps....

Hello, DeNami friends!

We are now onto Day #2 of the boy theme week here on the blog. I hope you enjoyed the card we had yesterday! Today we have a card that can be used as an "everyday" card, so it works for lots of different occasions. Many of you know that I'm not a fan of animals in real life, however, I can't get enough of our animal stamps! They always bring a smile to my face when I use them, and they seem to do the same to those who receive cards featuring them! :)

Football Birthday Chickie

Good morning!

It's a new week and we have a new theme here on the blog. I don't know about you, but I personally struggle with creating boy themed cards. I love rhinestones and glitter so much, it's hard not to add them to my cards! This week, I thought I would bring you some inspiration for everyday and birthday cards. Also, thanks to the wonderful Dana Seymour, we will also be having a photo tutorial with a boy theme! Lots of fun stuff coming in the next few days!

Last week, it was my dad's birthday and I was in need of a card. After some debating, I finally decided to create a birthday/ sports themed card (since he's a big football fan). I started with the football chickie from the All Star Chickies stamp set, and then added the balloon from the Party Time stamp set. (complete supply list below)

In closing, I want to remind you that TODAY is the last day to enter cards for the Theme Challenge #9. Don't have a lot of DeNami stamps? That's okay! You can use just one on your card for it to be eligible for entry!

One Stamp Two Ways

Good morning!

Today I have two cards to share using the current Product Spotlight, the Love Script. I have to admit, this sentiment hasn't always been one that I found myself reaching for. However, after stamping with it, I found I couldn't put it down! The handwriting is so beautiful and it coordinates with all of our heart stamps so well.

Here is the first card that I created:

My love affair with purple is starting to grow by leaps and bounds, which I'm sure you have noticed in my cards lately. Our Amethyst, Lavender and Celery cardstocks work SO well together!

Here is another way you can use the sentiment:

I hope that these cards inspired you. Isn't it fun to see how one stamp can be used in such different ways? That is one thing I love about cardmaking, you can really let your creativity take flight in all sorts of ways.

Pastel Birdhouses

Hello there!

You may have noticed that we didn't have a blog post yesterday. I had every intention of getting one together, and then we lost power for 2 1/2 days. Needless to say, last week was a CRAZY week.

It's amazing how you appreciate the things you have when it's {temporarily} taken away. I had plans to spend hours creating card for the blog over the weekend, but with the power outage, sadly none took place. Also, the plans to create DeNami YouTube videos and schedule blog posts for this week went out the window. *sigh*

Purple Love Hearts

Hi there!

Oh my, the weather here is just so strange! I left my house yesterday and it was a complete winter wonderland, then when I got five minutes away from work, it was just wet and the sun was starting to come out! Here you can see the contrasting weather conditions......

The production team and I were able to get quite a few orders shipped out yesterday, however, there are still a few that are there for us when we return. As soon as we're able to get back to the warehouse, we will be shipping them out! (At the moment we are waiting and watching the snow condition to see if it's safe to head to work today.)

Don't worry, this snow isn't stopping us from posting some new card inspiration! I made it a point to scan in enough cards and posts to last until early next week. :) I hope you enjoy them!

Simple Hearts + VIDEO

Hello there!

If you follow the DeNami Facebook page, you probably saw the picture that we posted of the snow here in Washington. We have been snowed in and we aren't exactly sure when we'll be able to get to the warehouse. They are saying that the snow should be gone soon- I'm hoping that's true! I want to to get back to the office, and I know our production team would like to get the orders shipped out too. While I am very bummed that I haven't been able to get to the office yet, there has been a blessing: I've been able to work on tons of new cards for the blog/ Idea Sheets and ideas for future videos! :)

I'm so glad that I already scheduled a new video and card for today. Guess it pays off to plan blog posts ahead of time! Here's the new sweet & simple Valentine card and video:

Be Mine Valentine Card

Good morning!

I hope you all had a terrific weekend. We were in Mesquite, Texas for the Stamp Scrap Art Tour show. I know Gary, Nami and the boys enjoyed seeing familiar faces, along with meeting new DeNami friends. If you were able to attend, we hope you had a great time!

Today I have a fun Valentine card to share with you. I was actually super happy with how this one turned out (which doesn't happen all too often). For a while now, I've wanted to create a tic-tac-toe grid with the Stitched Border and I thought it'd be perfect for a Valentines Day card. Now I'm just wondering why I didn't play around with this sooner!

I know many of you follow our videos on YouTube, however, there are still lots who don't know we are there yet! We would LOVE for you to share us with your fellow crafty friends. For the card I'm posting today, I pulled one of the cards from the latest Idea Sheet. I wanted to challenge myself and use a stamp I hadn't used much before- this time it happened to be the Love Script Heart. I didn't realize how amazing this stamp was until I created this card. I love how you can use this stamp by itself and create a one layer card, or you can dress it up a bit (like I did here).

Theme Challenge #9

Happy Friday!

Today we are in for a special treat- we have a step-by-step picture tutorial by DT member, Andrea! A while back, I asked my team if they would be interested in doing some tutorials for you all. I'm so happy that many of them were on board! We will for sure have one every single Friday in January, and then hopefully we can continue them for most, if not all, of February! I'm excited to see what the ladies have planned!

With Valentine's Day a little over a month away, we will have an underlying Valentine theme here on the DeNami blog. I'll occasionally throw in some other cards, however; you can expect to see lots of pink & red, along with hearts here for a little while. :)

Hello, DeNami friends!

It seems like it's been forever since I last posted a card. With the holidays, it just wasn't feasible for me to post cards like usual. Plus, I know many of you were busy with various things, so I decided it would be best to take a small break. However, now that life is "back to normal", we are back to posting cards and we will be starting up our challenges again on Monday!

During the break, I stamped up a storm of Valentine cards. I honestly don't think I could get tired of playing with our Valentine stamps and all the yummy pink & red products we have. On my card today, I went a little non-traditional and brought grey in with pink. These colors are so fun together, and they will work for cards year round as well!

Spring/ Summer 2012 Design Team

Hello and Happy Wendesday to you all!

Today is the day.....we FINALLY get to announce our new design team! If you know me, you know that I am horrible at keeping secrets. Let me tell you, keeping these amazing girls a secret was a HUGE task. I honestly was counting the days until I could make the announcement!

As you'll see below, we have five of our previous DT gals returning, along with one very special newcomer. These ladies individually have so much talent, but bring them altogether and you have a team that is beyond amazing. I have many things planned for the DeNami blog this upcoming year, and I couldn't dream of a better team to work with.

And now, here are the ladies that will be inspiring us these next six months....

We are so very blessed to have these ladies joining us these upcoming six months. In addition to our usual once-a-month challenge and twice-a-month Product Spotlights, you'll be able to see some other lovely DeNami creations from these ladies. Oh, and let's not forget the new release coming up... Once again, our DT will have some AMAZING creations that will inspire you.

Also, in the coming months, you can be sure we'll have new videos and Idea Sheets (we actually just posted a new one!), along with some other fun surprises.

Please join me in welcoming the ladies to the team! I know they will LOVE getting some love on their blog, but you're also more than welcome to post it on this blog post as well. :)

Looking Back on 2011 & Looking to 2012

Hello and Happy New Year to you all!

Looking back on 2011...

All of us here at DeNami have been reminded of how blessed we have been this year. Now I know usually these types of posts are done around Thanksgiving, but I couldn't help but do one today (since I didn't do one in November).

This year, we have been so grateful for the Lord's grace and protection over our company. He protected us while we traveled to 30 shows all across the country, from Massachusetts to Florida to California back to Washington. Despite flooding, earthquakes, snow and major rain storms, we made it to all the locations without any accidents. Once again, He watched over our warehouse when there was talks of major flooding in our area, which was scary since Gary and Nami were on the road at the time. In addition, the Lord has continually provided for us, along with all of our employees, which says a lot in these tough economic times. God never ceases to fail us!

Looking to 2012....

As we look to this new year, we have LOTS of exciting plans and products in the works. Normally, we have our Spring/ Summer release in January, however, this time around it'll be a little later. You'll definitely want to stay tuned! Let's just say we have listened to the requests of many customers.....I cannot wait to share what we have in store for you all!

With the new year upon us, we also have a new term for our design team. We'll have that big announcement coming on Wednesday. Many of the ladies you have grown to love and follow will be joining us again, along with a newbie! We have great, big plans for the blog and we cannot wait to get started!

I know this is a fairly long post, so I'll wrap it up now. We are excited to have you join us in this new year and we hope that this year brings lots of new friends to DeNami as well! As the saying goes, the more the merrier!

I have one last Christmas card for you all today. After two theme weeks of Christmas Cards & Christmas Projects, along with various other holiday goodness, it's time for the fun to end. I'm guessing, with Christmas a mere 9 days away, you are pretty much finished with your holiday cards anyways. :)

As I was looking to the next major holiday, I couldn't help but bring out some pink and red for this card. Yes, that's right, you can use pink and red on Christmas cards!

Curly Christmas Tree

Hi there!

It's officially my last day here in the office until 2012. After a long week of inventory and wrapping up loose ends, I'm excited to get a two week holiday break! The two main things on the agenda during break: spending time with family and creating lots and lots of cards!

For my card today, I pulled out some bright, bold colors. If you have followed the DeNami blog for a little while, you know that I enjoy trying out new color combinations. There's something about the Sky Blue, Leaf Green, Navy cardstock with a pop of Red grosgrain that I just love!

Holiday Gift Bag & Tag

Good morning and Happy Monday to you!

I hope you all were able to join us in the AMAZING Gift Wrapping Blog Hop we had yesterday. My, oh my, I am blown away by the creativity of the DT and the DeNami friends who joined us. There were so many great ideas!

In keeping with the spirit of Christmas, and also the theme of the blog hop, I thought it'd be appropriate to showcase a gift bag/ tag I created recently. I am such a huge fan of dressing up gift bags and creating fun gift tags to reflect the recipients style. It doesn't have to take a large amount of time (this combo only took 15 minutes), but it adds so much to a gift. Plus, it's so much more special than a store bought bag!

For the actual bag, I kept it fairly simple and stamped the Large Dot Swirls all over. I didn't want the bag to be too busy so it would compete with the gift tag.

The tag was so fun to create. I didn't have a chance to bring out the Large Holly for any of my cards this year, so I figured it'd be perfect to use it on my tag! It seemed a little bare with just the holly, so I stamped the Harlequin Border in a light color behind it. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE this stamp?

Christmas Projects Week Day #4

Happy Friday!

We are on the last day of our Christmas Projects week here on the blog. I hope that you were able to find a project (or two) that sparked your creativity during this holiday season. While I thoroughly enjoy making cards, it's been a lot of fun going outside my comfort zone and creating these projects.

In keeping with creating different items this week, I thought this time around I'd create an actual decoration that can be used in your house. I went through my stamp drawers and saw the Mimi in Sleigh stamp, which I knew I had to use as my main image. To complete the scene, I used the Medium Pine and Snowflakes stamp set. Love how all of these stamps work together so well!

While I was at a scrapbook store recently, I saw this scallop chipboard that I had to have. At the time, I didn't know what I was going to use it for, but after pondering for a little bit, I thought it'd be a perfect item for a decoration. (Also, you just can't beat 89 cents for a pretty scallop piece!)

Christmas Projects Week Day #3

Good morning!

I hope you've been enjoying this week of Christmas Projects thus far. Each day, I've been trying to come up with something completely different than the previous day. Today's project is both a gift and a little treat box in one.

Nami came up with this adorable little box at the Carson, CA show in November. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to bring it back to show you all here on the blog. I just love the little ribbons at the bottom of the Large Mitten, and how cute are those pom poms?

Here's the mitten outside of the box. It's a little hard to see from the picture, but she stamped two of the mittens and then added some chocolates in between them. Wouldn't it be fun to open up the box and not only get a cute decoration, but also some sweet treats!

Christmas Projects Week Day #2

Hello, DeNami friends!

We are onto Day #2 of our Christmas Projects week here on the blog. For today, I thought it would be fun to create a little ornament that can be used on your Christmas tree. I personally haven't ever created an ornament, but after seeing Nami's cute one, I'm going to give them a try!

For the ornament, Nami used the new Large Stocking and the Polka Dot Background. Yes, you only need TWO stamps for this cute project! Can't you just see your tree filled with these cuties? You can switch out the cardstock colors to fit your personal color preferences.

Christmas Projects Week Day #1

Hello there!

As we are inching closer and closer to Christmas, I know some may be needing gift ideas for friends or family. This week, I thought it would be fun to showcase some different projects that are fairly inexpensive to recreate, and will also come in handy in the next few weeks.

Today I have a decorated post-it note cover to share. I don't know about you, but I use post-its all the time at work. They're great for little reminders, leaving little notes to a fellow co-worker, etc.... Instead of having just a boring pad of post-its, I thought a decorated cover would brighten up a work day (and your desk).

It was so much fun creating this mini wreath with the sprig from the Classic Christmas stamp set. After I created the wreath, I went ahead and added the pine cone, just to dress it up a bit. Since I still had the stamp out, I also stamped it on the post-its.

Today is officially the last day of the Christmas Cards week here on the DeNami blog. I must say, I'm a little sad to see it end- I was just starting to really get into it! Thankfully I have more Christmas goodness coming next week....this time in the form of projects!

Okay, now moving onto Day # 4 of our Christmas Cards week.....This week, I did my best to try to use stamps I wouldn't normally reach for. It's easy for me to go to my favorites, so I thought I'd challenge myself a little bit. Today's challenge: use the Penguin Trio. I think this stamp is utterly adorable, I just don't get around to using it very often. However, now that I have this card layout, I'll have to use this stamp again!

We are almost to the end of our week, but don't worry, I'll have more Christmas goodness for you all next week! However, I'll change it up just a teeny bit. Stay tuned for that!

December Guest Designer

Hello there!

Happy December 1st to you! Today I have TWO blog posts for you- one that will continue the Christmas Cards week and then this one. With a new month upon us, it's time for a brand new Guest Designer!

I am a big Twitter person, and I recently started following the lovely Danielle Walls. This lady is an enabler, for sure. I'm constantly hearing about new products because of her tweets. :) In addition, I've been super inspired by her fabulous blog. Danielle posts multiple times a week, so there's always some new, awesome eye candy!

Okay, let's get to know Danielle a little better....

"I am so honored and excited to be the DeNami Guest Designer for December! It's a dream come true. I love these stamps, so I was thrilled to make some things to share with you!

I am a 27 year old teach turned stay-at-home mom. I'm lucky enough to be married to my best friend, and biggest supporter. Even though he doesn't understand this whole paper and stamps thing, he still pretends to be interested! We have two little boys, and a chihuahua, Lucy.

I stumbled upon the world of paper crafting a little over a year ago and just can't seem to stop! I love everything about stamps, ink, and paper, and it definitely helps me keep my sanity in a house full of boys. I'd describe my style as clean and simple for the most part, although I'm always up for trying something new. I love bright, bold colors, and fun, whimsical stamps. Perhaps more importantly, I love the friendships I have froemd since start my paper crafting journey. It's such a warm, welcoming community!

Christmas Card Week Day #3

Hello and Happy Wednesday to you!

I hope you've enjoy the Christmas Cards week thus far. After the super bright and whimsical card yesterday, I thought I'd bring in a more neutral, classic card this time. Also, as promised, I have another video for you this week!

Recently, one of our DeNami friends, Tina, asked if the Medium Pine and Star Swirl worked together. I was pleased to tell her they did, and I would bring a card using them soon. To be honest, I had never used these stamps together, so it was LOTS of fun to see how easy they were to use on one card. You'll be able to see just as how easy in the video below.

Christmas Card Week Day #2

Good morning!

It's Day #2 of Christmas Cards week here on the DeNami blog. Boy, oh boy, am I excited about the card I have for you today. It features some of my favorite stamps, along with my current favorite color combination. Add in some rhinestones and a doily, and this card is simply perfect.

For my card today, I featured the Decorative Crest Circle, which is a great stamp to have in your collection. It's been featured in over three publication in the past year and can work for whatever occasion you're creating for. I've previously used in in an elegant way (see here), so this time I decided to go the whimsical route.

Are you a fan of the classic, traditional Christmas colors, or do you enjoy the fun, whimsical colors? This week, I'll have a mixture of both, so hopefully you'll find a card (or two) that will inspire you.

Christmas Card Week Day #1

Good morning, DeNami friends!

I'm so excited about today's blog post....it's kicking off Day #1 of the Christmas Cards week here on the blog. Each day, we'll have a brand new Christmas card to share with you in addition to some videos along the way! Yes, that's right, we'll have more than one this week!

My card today was inspired by cards that Nami has created recently. She has been using the Classic Christmas stamp set a LOT lately, so I thought it was time for me to give this oldie (but goodie) a whirl. Oh my, I didn't realize how much of a treasure this little set is! I paired up this set with the Large Winter Tree, Polka Dot Background and the new Christmas Wishes sentiment. This is a great quick and easy card that you can created in just minutes.

Christmas Wishes Monkeys

Hi there!

We are completely in Christmas mode over here at the DeNami office. In fact, I'm listening to Christmas music as I type up this post! I just finalized the next two weeks of blog posts- we'll have TWO theme weeks coming up AND a special little treat for you all. Lots of fun stuff ahead!

I recently was commissioned to created a card using the Christmas Monkeys for our show booth. I haven't really had a chance to play with this stamp much, so I was a tad bit hesitant. After playing with a few ideas, I finally decided to shorten this stamp and only use three of the monkeys. I must say, using the stamp this way opened up the possibilities!

Floral Ornament Card + VIDEO

Hi there, DeNami friends!

Today I have a new card AND a video to share with you all. Remember how I mentioned last week (in the Paper Punch Purses post) that I had filmed some videos? This is one of them! I hadn't really had a chance to FULLY enjoy the Large Ornament from the July release, so I thought now would be a great time to play with it. Oh my goodness, I just love this stamp to pieces!

Here you can see that I created my own stamp design inside the ornament. I went with flowers this time around, but you could easily switch it out with any other DeNami stamp you own.

And now, here's the video that shows how to create this card from start-to-finish.

Googly Eyed Snowman

Hello, DeNami friends!

I must say, I was quite shocked after getting off the plane (from the Carson, CA show) to find it quite cold. So glad I packed my thick jacket and boots- it was cold enough outside where we could see our breath! With the low temperatures, it's making me want to play with all of our fun Christmas/ Winter stamps!

As I was going through our card file, I came across this hilarious card that Nami created. How fun {and silly} is this googly eyed snowman? I know this card would instantly take away any Winter day blues! This card would be great for kids and grown-ups alike!

Candy Ornaments

Hello and greetings from California!

We have officially wrapped up our 2011 stamp tour! We want to say a BIG thank you to all of those who have helped make it possible. We did well over thirty shows this year, so that involved a lot of help from local stampers/ crafters. Also, a BIG thank you to our customers who have supported us along the way- we are SO very thankful for each and every one of you. We have already signed up for our 2012 shows; we'll be posting that show schedule coming up soon.

Since we had our Anything but a Card Blog Hop yesterday, I thought it'd be fun to show off a project that coordinates with that theme. A little while ago Nami created these darling little candy ornaments, so I thought they'd be the perfect thing for today's post. Aren't they darling?

Nami stamped the new Large Ornament and then stamped the Polka Dot Background on top of it. Quick and easy, but SUPER adorable results. To top them off, she added some buttons from a Bubblegum Boutique Buttons pack, then added Silver rhinestones to the tops of them.

Seeing as it's all pretty much girls here at DeNami, there's usually a stash of chocolates somewhere. To make this little ornament sweeter {literally}, Nami added three little Rolo pieces. Cute AND yummy!

Christmas Birds + Fun Stuff

Hi there!

I've just looked at the calender- did you know there is less than 40 days until Christmas?! I have the urge to post lots of Christmas cards/ projects on this blog in the next month. Don't worry, I'll include some other cards as well....However, this blog will definitely be getting a holiday feel coming soon. :)

A while back, our friend Tina created this darling card. I just loved how she put three birdcages on a card- SUCH a great idea. I used that idea and incorporated it into this simple, little Christmas card.

This weekend, we have some fun stuff coming up! For those in the Southern California area, we'll be in Carson THIS Saturday and Sunday. This is the last show of 2011, so we are hoping to see lots and lots of familiar faces.

Paper Punch Purses + VIDEO

Hello, DeNami friends!

It's been a little while since I uploaded a new video for you all. I do have a few reasons for that....

1) Trying to decide which cards/ projects I should film

2) Debating on whether I should do technique videos, start-to-finish card videos or a little mixture

3) I'm still trying to get over how much I dislike my voice on camera

I finally pushed aside these reasons and just sat down in the studio and filmed some videos. I have some fun stuff scheduled for this blog in the next few weeks!

If you have attended a show recently, you have probably seen Nami create these adorable little paper punch purses. After seeing them for quite some time (and answering lots of emails on how to create them), I finally decided to do a video showing how to create them from start-to-finish. I thought they would be hard to make, but they are actually quite easy!

I'm in the Christmas mode right now, so I went with a traditional Christmas combo. However, you can do ANY kind of color combination. Below you'll see just some of the other ones we've created recently.
