Decorative Journal and Card {VIDEO}

Hello DeNami friends,
Journaling is a very popular hobby and I wanted to show you how you can create a beautiful journal that is inexpensive to make and also makes a great gift. You will also learn how to make a matching card.
I bought the plain journal at Walmart for about $3. I made sure it was a spiral bound to add the decorative binding. You can use a regular book bound version, and just skip this step.
In the video below I show step by step how to create the journal and card.

This journal makes a beautiful gift but also makes a lovely journal for yourself. You can do these same decorative touches on photo albums, scrapbooks, address books, planners and notebooks.

You can use the same stamps for the matching card. It makes your gift even easier to make when you don’t have to come up with a new card design. Plus, it looks very coordinated having the matching duo.

You can even make these to sell at craft fairs, give as teacher gifts, give to your club members, as a shower gift, etc.

Here’s the video to see how it was all made. Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel to stay up to date as to any new videos.

Enjoy making these lovely gifts.

Week of Gifts and Favors- Day 2 Pillow Boxes and Milk Cartons

Hello DeNami Friends!

Giving small treats is always fun and when you have a cute little box to put them in it’s even better! A lot of DeNami’s designs are perfect for projects like these!

For these projects I used dies to cut the pattern papers and assemble the gift boxes. The pattern papers came from a 6x6 pads that I bought specifically with these in mind. I assembled the boxes using a tape runner. For the images I picked a couple of different stamps and stamped them in Copic friendly ink on white cardstock. I kept the coloring simple with Copic markers. To cut out the images I used a scalloped punch and adhered them with foam tape to the boxes. These are fun and simple little boxes that you can create in a snap! I hope that you enjoyed my projects! Until next time!

Post-it Note Holder

Hi DeNami friends,

I love using stamps to make gifts.DT Deb created this wonderful gift using Post-it notes. You can get Post-it Notes in bulk and give to many of your friends. This is also great for office workers, teachers, and favors.
You can easily change the theme for any occasion. Even a graduation favor for a graduation party.

Here is what Deb wrote:

Hello DeNami friends! It’s Deb here today sharing a simple post-it note project that I created using my Silhouette (Design ID #43734). You can easily create this project without this cutting machine, so I will tell you how to do it.

Start off by trimming your cardstock to 3 ¼ inches by 6 ¾ inches. Then score it at 3 ¼ inches and 3 ½ inches. Use your bone folder to make your creases. I added some ATG adhesive tape to the back of my post it notes to adhere it to the inside. The finished project is 3 ¼ inches x 3 ¼ inches.

Next trim a piece of cardstock that is 3 inches x3 inches. Then the next part is where your creativity happens. You can ink up your stamps and sentiment to make it a thank you gift, birthday gift or any holiday gift. I chose to make mine Easter so I inked up Fancy Flutters and Easter Blessings. I will tuck it right into my kiddos Easter basket. This holder is wide enough for 50 sticky notes.

Wishing you a wonderful Easter!

Easter Packaging

Hi DeNami friends,

DT Lisa P made an adorable Easter treat that you can give or put in an Easter basket. How fun to make something this cute and it is so simple to do!

These adorable faces are so versatile for so many projects. I love how Lisa used it in such a new and fresh way.
She writes:

Hello there! It’s Lisa P. with one final Easter idea to share. I recently spent some time babysitting my two and a half year old niece in Pittsburgh. She loves to play with Play-Doh (and I have to confess…so do I). We had LOTS of fun together! So, for Easter I wanted to send her some additional colors of Play-Doh to add to her collection, and I wanted to wrap them in some kind of cute and creative way. Here’s what I came up with:

Aren’t they cute??? And they’re super easy to make.

Little Chick:

Step 1: Stamp the D123 Small Stitched Circle in VersaMark ink onto a yellow piece of cardstock. Stamp the little chick face from PF54 Animal Faces Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink in the center of the circle and color with markers. Punch out the circle with a 1” circle punch. Punch out two 1 1/2” scalloped circles from the same yellow cardstock and score each at 7/8”.

Step 2: Wrap a 12”x12” sheet of yellow tissue paper around a Play-Doh Plus container and secure with baker’s twine at the top. (Note: The Play-Doh Plus containers are smaller than regular Play-Doh containers. They measure 2 1/8” tall by 2 1/4” wide at the widest part of the lid.) Tie on a bow with ribbon. Adhere the pieces from Step 1 as shown.

Little Bunny:

Step 1: Stamp the D123 Small Stitched Circle in Smokey Gray Versafine ink onto a white piece of cardstock. Stamp the little bunny face from PF54 Animal Faces Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink in the center of the circle. Color the nose pink and add some whiskers with a black pen. Punch out the circle with a 1” circle punch. Punch out one 1 1/2” scalloped circle from white cardstock. Adhere the circle to the scalloped circle.

Step 2: Wrap two sheets of 12”x12” white tissue paper around a Play-Doh Plus container, splitting the bunch at the top into two parts. Secure each bunch with baker’s twine. Adhere the pieces from Step 1 as shown. Add a cotton ball for a tail.

So…what do you think???

I hope you like my projects for today! I had so much fun creating these!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine Lollipop Treats

Hello friends,

I can't wait to share with you what Deb has been cooking up. I think she has outdone herself with cuteness!! I absolutely love how simple this is, yet totally creative and eye catching.
Today you can learn how to make this in time for Valentine's Day.

This project would be perfect for party favors for a kid's party, bridal shower, celebration, or even game day. Just change out the colors and stamps to create the theme you need.

You can even do this and tuck a Dove chocolate instead of the lollipop. Just don't make the hole for the stick. If you don't want to do candy, you can easily tuck in a mini post it note pad! How cute would that be!

Here's Deb's step by step tutorial. Give her some love by leaving a comment. Us bloggers LOVE comments.
Here's what Deb writes:

Hello DeNami friends! It’s Deb here today sharing some fun Valentine’s Day treats using some stamps from the latest release combined with some older stamps. DeNami carries so many wonderful Valentine themed stamps that you can easily substitute the images or sentiments while making this project.

For my project, I created some adorable lollipop wrappers. First I measured my lollipops to ensure they would be completely wrapped. I used Jolly Rancher lollipops. I trimmed my cardstock to 3x 2 ¾. Since I was using DeNami cardstock I simply trimmed it in half lengthwise and then trimmed off 2 ½ inches.

I decided that I would use my embossing folders to jazz them up a bit.  I knew the cardstock was going to be longer, but I decided that the non embossed portion would end up on the back of the wrapper anyway. Also, some of the embossing folders emboss a bit deeper if using a thinner cardstock. That is was happened with my Thin Lines wrapper so I ended up using Wire Fence  instead.

I scored them down the middle.

Then I marked a spot half way down so that I could hole punch the center for the lollipop stick. As it turned out, my crop-a-dile was too short! So I used my scissors to trim an opening.

I stamped my focal point using the new Sealed with a Kiss and Sweetie Skunk along with my other sentiments and images. I added some foam adhesive to attach them to the wrappers.

Then I simply slid them into the wrappers. I applied a bit of ATG to one side to make sure they didn’t slide around.

Then I used my Tim Holtz tiny attacher to close them. You could also use a regular stapler or more ATG.

I applied some ATG to my fingers, just like Nami taught me *wink* and then wrapped it around the lollipop stick.

I trimmed some ribbon to about 6 inches and tied a knot around the stick making sure the ribbon was attached to the stick. Then I trimmed off the excess ribbon.

This project would also work great as party favors at a baby shower or birthday party. I hope you have the chance to give this a try.

Valentine's Day Treats

Hello Friends,

Have I got a treat for you! A real treat, a Valentine's one! These are simple enough that you can whip them up and have them ready on that day. You will get all  kinds of compliments because people will marvel at how nice they are and you can just smile, knowing you can make them easily.

Lisa P will explain how to make them step by step:

Hello, DeNami friends! It’s Lisa P. and today I’m sharing some Valentine’s Day treat packages using the brand new CL-B121 Sealed With A Kiss sentiment. This sentiment is so sweet and works perfectly with the previously released (and totally adorable) CL-D174 Friendly Seal.

I’ve seen some dies on the market for making treat wrappers and this immediately got me to thinking about how I could use what I already have to make my own. Here’s what I came up with.

Step 1: Die-cut two large shapes from double-sided patterned paper. (Note: The die I used here is the second largest die in the Bubble Box Fri-Dies set from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps.)

Step 2: Score each at 3 5/8” and trim off the scallops closest to the score line (Note: You’ll end up trimming off about 3/4”.)

Step 3: Die-cut the second smallest Bubble Box from patterned paper.

Step 4: Die-cut the smallest Bubble Box from white cardstock. Stamp the sentiment and teeny heart onto this die-cut.

To Finish: Stamp Friendly Seal onto white cardstock, color him with markers and fussy cut him out. Adhere the white bubble box to the patterned paper bubble box and then adhere the seal. Adhere the two straight-edged flaps of the largest die-cuts together to create a wrap. Adhere the focal point onto the wrap. Insert a package of fruit snacks within the wrap and secure with Scor-Tape. Punch two holes in the top and tie on some baker’s twine to hold the wrap closed.

After I finished making this one, I decided to try to make another one. This time around though instead of using large die-cuts for the wrap, I used two rectangular panels of cardstock (each measuring 3 1/2” x 4 1/4”). I embossed the two panels to add some interest and then I picked up with Step 2 above. Here’s how it turned out:

And here’s a look at all of the packages together:

These little packages are so simple to create and could easily be modified for just about any occasion. I know I’ll be making more of these in the future! I hope you’ll give it a try too!

Thanks for visiting!

Candy Purses

Hi Friends,

I love Valentine's Day. It's a great time to share your love and appreciation to those around you. Little gifts and treats are a great way of spreading the love around easily and inexpensively.

These little candy purses can use scrap cardstock and supplies.

Here's what you will need:

TR12 Sweet Treat Blocks Trifles Set (Scallop Square stamp)
E114 Small Circle Dot Frame
F183 Double Circle stamp
Versafine Onyx Black ink pad
ATG adhesive
Boutique Buttons
Rhinestones
Scissors
PC21 White Cardstock
PC45 Amethyst Cardstock
PC49 Lavender Cardstock
Marvy purple Oval Scallop Punch (2x3 inches)
Marvy purple Square Scallop Punch (2 inches)
Marvy purple Rectangle Scallop Punch (1.5x2.5 inches)
Marvy yellow Scallop Circle Punch (1.5 inches)

Here are the Marvy punches

Here are the DeNami stamps I used

For the hot pink purse, punch out 2 scallop rectangles.

Fold about 4 scallops in, or 1 inch from edge approximately

Using an ATG adhesive applicator, apple to the folded ends and attach ends together.

Apply ATG adhesive to inside and press candy, such as Rolo, Hershey's Nuggets, Hershey's Kisses, hard candies, etc.
On White cardstock, stamp scallop square with Versafine Onyx Black ink pad.

Detail cut or Fussy cut the scallop with scissors.

 Fold diagonally in half.

Apply ATG adhesive and attach to top of purse.

 Gather buttons and rhinestones

Apply ATG adhesive to your fingers and press on button to adhere adhesive.
Continue stacking another button and then a self adhesive rhinestone.

 Attach to purse base.

For handle, stamp Dot Circle stamp with Versafine Onyx Black ink pad.
Punch out using Marvy 1.5 inch scallop circle punch, centering it in the window.
 Super easy to do this.

 Fold it in half.
 Using scissors, cut out center.

 Unfold creating a ring.
Apply ATG adhesive to your finger and then press ring to the adhesive until it transfers.
You should have a sticky front ring.
 Attach to purse body.
 Look how adorable this looks!

Here is the other variation using Scallop Oval punches.
Here it is using the Square Scallop punch. Punch out three and fold one 2 scallops in or just make sure the middle surface is wide enough for your candy. This one is about 1 inches wide.
Apply ATG to the folded sides and then attach the square scallops to the adhesive.
Optional: Cut off about 1.25 inches from the end or 2 scallops.

Turn over and apply ATG adhesive and press on candy.

There are so many variations you can come up with. You can vary the depth and make them shallower for Post-it Notes. You can also put a mini bag inside and fill with loose candies, like M&M's.
These would also make great little girls' birthday party favors, bridal shower favors, Mother's Day gifts, ladies' luncheons favors, etc.
Hope you enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed making them. Once you get started, they are so easy to make lots of them. Have fun.
What will you be making them for? Comment below.
