"Will You Be My Valentine?" Card and Design Team Member Introduction
Hi Friends,
I am delighted to introduce our fourth team member from Germany! I saw her super creative projects on Instagram and saw her enthusiasm for crafting there. She did some very interactive cards and often even had a little video showing how it moves. I was impressed by that very much. I think you will enjoy her fun cards as you see what she creates from week to week. Her fun personality also comes through on her cute and fun cards, too.

My name is Jeanin, I am 27 years old and live in Germany. I work at the university as a researcher where I mostly work at the computer. Therefore, I love to be able to actually create something with my hands in my leisure time.

I've always loved
arts and crafts since I was a little girl but after finishing school I
somehow lost my creative mojo. I started sewing in early 2012 after
seeing the great creations of some friends of mine. Later I also got
into baking and crocheting. In October 2014 I slowly found my way into
crafting and card making after buying my cutting machine, the Brother
Scan'N'Cut. I first heard about it (or cutting machines in general) in a
Facebook sewing group and was a fool to believe at first that I would
never need it. Thanks to YouTube I quickly realized that I had to get
one and found tons of card making tutorials.
Now I craft
almost every day. Sometimes I enjoy listening to music, on other days I
watch an episode of one of my many TV series I enjoy, sometimes I call
my family or friends. I love that I can combine crafting with so many
other activities. As I said earlier, I am in love with my cutting
machine. The second greatest thing, at least for me, is heat embossing. I
can actually recall the first time I saw heat embossing in a crafting
tutorial and I was absolutely amazed by it.
I hope you'll get some great inspiration out of all the cards and projects the DeNami Design Team will show. Happy crafting!

Hello DeNami Friends!
Today I am showing you this fun and interactive Valentines card. I used the sentiment "Will you be my valentine?" that I printed on vellum and wanted the question to be answered right away. Therefore I came up with the idea to include the answer in the card. The recipient of the card is able to pull on the golden flap on the right side of the card and the "lonely" coffee cup will change into the picture of it and a donut. I think the little heart above the two images let them seem to be in love. I really liked that.
To create this card I used this heart background that I actually found in a magazine. It has foiled hearts in it and I thought it would be just perfect! I cut out a circle from the paper that was big enough for the second image of the coffee cup and the donut.
I stamped the little coffee cup and the cup and donut on white cardstock and spaced them accordingly. I also stamped the a little donut individually because I thought it would be fun to adhere him near the sentiment as if he is asking the question. I colored the images with alcohol markers.
I adhered the patterned paper to a card base making sure not to apply the adhesive where I want the flap to be. At first I wanted the word "yes" to appear on the white flap but I didn't like that and covered it with golden washi tape later.
To finish of my card I adhered the vellum and the little donut to the patterned paper.

Coffee Owl Card and Design Team Member Introduction
Hi Friends,
Today we introduce you to another of our design team members. Her name is Elizabeth. I came across her on our Facebook page, I saw her many projects posted on social media AND I recognized her as a regular customer of DeNami and knew she was passionate about DeNami and stamping.
Though we have never met face to face, she has a creative spirit and is always eager to learn more about her art. She has a variety of styles, but always has an attention to detail. Enjoy meeting her and learning from her.

Hi Everyone!
My name is Elizabeth Gunn and I am from Cincinnati, Ohio, home of Cincinnati Chili and the Bengals. I am married to my loving husband Mike and I have a beautiful teenage stepdaughter. We also have two cats that are my fur babies named Baby Girl and Sheldon Cooper Gunn. Right now I work part time at a retail store which means that I have to do my creating when I get a chance. I began stamping about 3 years ago when I decided that I wanted to start a business creating handmade greeting cards. I started watching YouTube videos to learn everything that I could about stamping and that was when I came across DeNami Design and I fell in love with her little chickies. Since then I have been hooked! My favorite tool to use while stamping is the MISTI. You will learn quickly that I use it a lot. Also, I love adding glitter and shine to as many cards as possible. I am also a big fan of the flip cards and have started getting into box cards also. I can’t wait to share with you my creations and I hope that you learn some new techniques and create some wonderful projects.

Hi DeNami Friends!
Today’s project was inspired my husband, Mike, and his love of coffee! I thought to myself what would be a great card for Mike to give to me for Valentine’s Day? That’s when I remembered the new coffee stamps and said, "perfect"!
The
card base is a piece of white cardstock cut to make a 5” square, top
folding card. The red polka dot pattern paper is cut to 4.75”x4.75” and
the stamped panel is 4”x4”. I used a pencil and a ruler to draw a 1”
grid on my stamp panel so that I would know where to stamp the square
stitched border. I used grey dye ink to stamp the border inside each of
the square of the grid. Next, I stamped the coffee cup in red dye ink
inside of each of the squares. After looking high and low for my good
eraser, I erased the gridlines that I had created. On a scrap of white
cardstock I stamped the square border in the same red dye ink and the
owl in the tea cup in black dye ink. With Copic markers, I colored in
the owl and the teacup. On the edge of the paper I used a grey marker to
give it a more finished look. For the greeting I used an alphabet stamp
set and stamped the greeting in black dye ink on both the front of the
card and the inside of the card. I adhered the red polka dot pattern
paper to the card base and then my stamped panel. I used foam tape to
adhere the owl in the tea cup to center of my card. I hope that you
enjoyed todays project!

"We Go Together" Valentine's Day Card and Design Team Member Introduction

This week is our kick off of the new design team and we will be introducing each of them this week! Be sure to check back each day to meet them all. Today's first design team member is Lisa Petrella. She has been with us for over 5 years now. I have had the privilege of meeting her in person at a show in Colorado and fell in love with her. She has an infectious laughter and smile. She truly exudes joy and love. You will see from her projects her fun personality comes out with the sweetness and cuteness.

Hi! My name is Lisa
Petrella. My husband, Tony, and I live in the beautiful foothills of
Colorado. We have a totally loveable 12 year old cat named Oliver James
and a super energetic 8 month old yellow lab named Pepper Ella. I’ve
been a part of the DeNami Design DT since December 2010, and I
absolutely love working with their fabulous products! Nami is an amazing
artist, and she and her family are truly some of the sweetest and most
genuine people I’ve ever met.
Being creative makes me happy, and I’m slightly
addicted to stamps, paper, and ink. I love to design and create cards,
tags, gift/treat packaging, and invitations. Some of my favorite
stamping techniques include heat embossing, paper piecing, and using
stamps to create patterns/backgrounds. One of my goals for 2016 is to
step out of my creative comfort zone and experiment with some new (to
me) techniques.
I
used to craft late into the night, but I’ve had to alter my schedule a
bit since we brought our puppy home last June. Now I squeeze my crafting
time in when the puppy is resting or out training in the field with
Tony. As a result, my studio time has been somewhat limited. However, I
have found that getting outside and hiking with Pepper every day
breathes new inspiration and energy into my life, which actually fuels
my creativity.

Hello,
DeNami Design friends! It’s Lisa P. Today I’m sharing a sweet little
Valentine’s Day card that features a couple of new stamps released by
DeNami Design last Friday and a few previously released images.
So…I’ve
been on a mission to totally clean-out and reorganize my craft studio.
It’s been a process (a very slow moving process), and along the way I’ve
uncovered quite a few stamps that have never seen ink before (gasp!).
The PF18 Veggies Stamp Set is one of those sets. So, when I saw it, I
started thinking about it. And as I thought more and more about it I
eventually came up with the idea to make it one of my “pairs” in a “We
go together like…” card. Here’s what I came up with:
I
printed the sentiment onto white cardstock using the Freestyle Script
Font in Microsoft Word. I cut the sentiment panel to 3.25” x 5.5” and
die-cut the stitching marks down the left-hand edge. I stamped my pairs
of images underneath the sentiment and colored them with markers.
I
took a blank, top-folding A2 card and masked off the section above the
fold line with post-it notes. Using the N128 Three Line Border stamp and
black ink, I created a plaid strip down the left-hand edge of my card.
First, I started at the top and worked my way down, angling the stamp
(like a forward slash / ). Then, I flipped my card upside down. I
started at the top and worked my way down, angling the stamp (like a
backslash \ ).
Creating
plaids with the N128 Three Line Border stamp is one of my favorite
things to do! You can keep the plaid design one color OR you can use two
or more colors. I even have a second N128 Three Line Border stamp in my
collection (and who knows…maybe even a third that I haven’t uncovered
yet…ha!) specifically for this purpose! That way I don’t have to keep
cleaning the stamp as often in between switching ink colors.
I stamped “Happy Valentine’s Day” on the inside of my card, but this would also make a super fun anniversary card!
