Interview with Rebeka

Today we are bringing you an interview with the lovely Rebeka. Not only is Beka a part of our design team, she also is a certified DeNami Design instructor AND also works part-time as a graphic designer for our company. Come along as we get to know her better....

How long have you been stamping?

I have been stamping for over fifteen years, but really got serious about it 7-8 years ago.

How did you get into stamping?

I've always been drawn to anything artistic, and once I began working at DeNami, my stamp collection exploded! Being surrounded by stamps and stamping supplies, not to mention all the beautiful card samples, made it easy (and inevitable). Eventually I began to assist and later teach stamping classes, which really helped me grow and improve my stamping style and skills.

How would you describe your stamping style?

Simple and sweet. Like me ;-). I do love making beautiful cards, and especially enjoy cards with lots of coloring (takes me back to my days in kindergarten, I guess!).

What is your favorite color combination to use on your projects?

Wow, I don't know if I can narrow it down to one color combo! I love so many different colors! I do find myself reaching for my chocolate brown ink pad quite often, and I like pink and apple green. Deep down, however, my favorite color will probably always be purple!

If you had to choose one go-to stamp, what would it be?

I don't think I could every really choose a single favorite stamp! There are so many I love to use! DeNami's Flower Vine Swirl, the Daisy collection, the fabulous circle stamps... how can I decide? I guess I do often find a way to use the absolutely beautiful Decorative Flourish on many, many of my cards.

What is your favorite embellishment?

Glitter! No, wait... buttons! No, wait.... ribbon!. No, wait.... Seriously, it's like asking what my favorite kind of chocolate is.... all of it! But, hand to my heart, I'll say glitter. Me and glitter go back a long way.

How many cards do you create per week?

It varies, depending on if I'm making cards for me or making cards for work. If it's just for fun, about 3 or so. The number only goes up from there if I'm making cards for work (which, by the way, is still super fun!).

Where do you get inspiration for your projects?

Just about everywhere. I get very inspired by what other people create.

What is your favorite part of blogging?

I actually love reading other people's blogs more than I like doing my own. I love getting to know people and seeing what they share about their lives. I do like sharing what i do too, and of course I love the comments!

Any tips for new stampers?

Practice practice practice! Get inspired by others, but don't compare yourself. Just as everyone is unique, so are your cards! I still learn great ideas, tips, and techniques from my students every time I teach a class. Just enjoy the creative process and see where it takes you!
