Mimi Baby Shower Card

Hi Everyone!

Elizabeth here with another project for DeNami! This week I thought I would pull out one of my original stamps that I first purchased from her! So I pulled out Mom-to-be Mimi. I love this stamp because it is great to use for a baby shower card.

For my card I stamped Mimi in black ink and colored her with Copic markers. Next, I trimmed her down and found some lavender cardstock that matched adorable glittery button pattern paper that I found in my stash. I cut down the button paper to be the front panel of my card. For the base of my card I decided to to use kraft cardstock instead of the usual white. Also, in my stash I found some green cardstock that matched the button paper. I cut it into a banner and thought it would be cute with Petit Four Baby stamp set. I stamped those in a dye ink that was just a little darker than the paper. I placed Mimi on the lavender paper and adhered her to the right side of the card and adhered the banner on the left side of card. I hope that you enjoyed my card this week and it inspires you to pull out some of those older stamps that you haven't used in a while!

Thanksgiving Mimi

Happy Fall ya’ll! It’s Tammy and it’s my turn to share a card with you today on the DeNami Blog. As we put away our Halloween crafting supplies till next year, it’s time to focus on Fall and Thanksgiving. I have a card to share with you using Mimi’s Pumpkin Patch.

I started by piecing together three papers from my patterned paper collection and added to a Kraft card base. I added a scallop border trim at the top for a decorative touch. I took a length of shear gold metallic ribbon and wrapped it around the card front creating a fussy bow embellished with Orange and White Baker’s Twine, and a Lime Boutique Button. I stamped Mimi on Ivory cardstock and colored her in with Prisma Colored Pencils and mineral spirits.  I stamped Happy Thanksgiving just below Mimi. I die-cut the image and added to the front with foam dimensional. Lastly, I added a few Boutique Buttons laced with twine for a finished look.

I hope you have a Terrific Tuesday!

Vibrant Sweetheart Mimi

Hello, DeNami friends!

Today I have a new, vibrant Sweetheart Mimi card to share with you all. Last year, I had used this stamp quite a bit, but then didn't pull it out again until now. Oh my, now I remember why I loved it so much! It is so fun to color this image, and it is great for all sorts of occasions!

Last year, we actually had a Product Spotlight post dedicated to this stamp- did you see it? Click here to view all the previous DT cards created with this stamp.

I will be back tomorrow with a brand new photo tutorial from Wendy. It's a fun project that has a unique ribbon technique- be sure to stop by the early to check it out. :)

Have a great rest of your Thursday!

Christmas Projects Week Day #4

Happy Friday!

We are on the last day of our Christmas Projects week here on the blog. I hope that you were able to find a project (or two) that sparked your creativity during this holiday season. While I thoroughly enjoy making cards, it's been a lot of fun going outside my comfort zone and creating these projects.

In keeping with creating different items this week, I thought this time around I'd create an actual decoration that can be used in your house. I went through my stamp drawers and saw the Mimi in Sleigh stamp, which I knew I had to use as my main image. To complete the scene, I used the Medium Pine and Snowflakes stamp set. Love how all of these stamps work together so well!

While I was at a scrapbook store recently, I saw this scallop chipboard that I had to have. At the time, I didn't know what I was going to use it for, but after pondering for a little bit, I thought it'd be a perfect item for a decoration. (Also, you just can't beat 89 cents for a pretty scallop piece!)

Well, my dear DeNami friends, that's all for this post. If you missed any of the previous Christmas Projects we posted this week, here are the links:

I will see you all back here on SUNDAY for the Gift Wrapping Blog Hop. There's bound to be lots and lots of amazing ideas- you definitely want to be sure to come hop along with us.

Have a great rest of your day!

Adding Photos to Cards

Hi there!

Who's ready for a laugh this fine Thursday morning? As I was going through the potential cards I could post, I couldn't help but decide on this one for today. It might have to do with the fact that I recently went to a beach in CA and was wishing I was still there. Or it could be that we haven't truly had a Summer here in WA and I'm living vicariously through Mimi. Whatever the case may be, it's a fun card!

We are very much card makers here at DeNami, however; we do enjoy adding pictures to our cards whenever we can.You can add miniature photos to just about any of the Mimi stamps, which is always a hoot to see. Imagine how fun it would be to get a card like this in the mail!

In closing, I want to mention there are 10 days left to join along in the Sketch Challenge #9!  There are some great cards entered- we hope you'll add yours to the list!  Just in case you need a little more enticing, there's a $20 DeNami gift certificate up for grabs to the winner.  We can't wait to see what you create! :)

Have a great rest of your day. I'll see you tomorrow!

{Almost} One Layer

Good morning to you!

I don't know about you ladies, but I have a super hard time doing one-layer cards. I can never seem to make them feel complete, and I'm always tempted to add lots of layers. However, Nami is the QUEEN of one-layer cards. Today I thought I'd share one of my favorites from the cards she brought back to the office.

Now, some of you may tend to think of the Sweetheart Mimi stamp only for Valentine's Day cards. Oh, dear friends, she can be used for everyday cards as well! Take a look at this beauty, that just happens to be {almost} a one-layer card. (The dove is the only item on another layer)

Cardstock: White

Wasn't this a fun card? I know I personally feel inspired to tackle a one-layer card; hopefully you were too! If you happen to create a DeNami one, you know I'd LOVE to see it. You can comment with your link OR post it to the DeNami Flickr group OR even upload it to the DeNami Facebook page!

I'll be back tomorrow with another {almost} one-layer card. See you then!

Product Spotlight- Sweetheart Mimi

Hello there!

It's time for the second Product Spotlight this month! Earlier this month, we featured the adorable G152 Elephant (click here for the blog post), so this time around we wanted to bring something a little more sophisticated. The result: our new N135 Sweetheart Mimi.

Let me warn you all, the design team created cards that left me awestruck this time around. One thing I noticed in their cards this time around- you can really see each designers style in these cards! Let's get started on the beauties, shall we?

Christmas Carolers

Hello there!

Well, I have to start off by saying that I have LOVED reading the entries for the current Facebook giveaway. It's always fun to see what stamps are on our customers wish lists..... If you haven't entered yet, be sure to leave a comment on this picture. We will announce the winners on the DeNami Facebook page on Thursday, so be sure to enter soon!

Now onto today's lovely Christmas card.....This was a previous class card which was a huge hit. There's something so special about receiving a pop up card in the mail. I know many are intimidated by pop up cards (I previously was), but thanks to the Pop Up Templates, it's actually quite easy!

How fun is the inside of this card? I just love the Christmas Carolers! Add the Mini Music Notes and it looks like they really are singing! Once you create the main pop up part, it's fun to add all the "extras" along the top and bottom.

In closing, I want to remind you that today is the last day to enter the Sketch Challenge #5. There are lots of great entries so far- if you get the chance, be sure to head over and take a peek!  See you here again tomorrow!

Mimi's Christmas Eve

 Hi there!

We are in FULL winter gear here in Washington. Yesterday we made the decision to keep the warehouse closed- the roads were so icy! We will do our best to get production up today, but it really depends on the road conditions. As we posted yesterday, we will ship our order as soon as we are able to!

Today I have a card that was in last years classes. All you need are two stamp to create this beauty! I think the Mimi's Christmas Eve stamp is adorable. Love that little outfit and who doesn't love sparkly presents under the tree? ;) We have so many Mimi images that could be used with this layout...just look for the ones with the "M" code numbers.

I'm excited to announce that we are SUPER close to 1500 "likes" on the DeNami Facebook page. Once we get to the milestone number, we'll be doing some giveaways. Christmas will come early for THREE people! Be sure to let all of your crafty friends know about us on Facebook.

I'll leave you with today's Question of the Day. Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving Eve! :)

Today I have a sweet and simple Mimi in the Rain card. This stamp is one of our most popular from our Spring/ Summer 2010 collection. It's about time for another giveaway. However, YOU will determine when it will be. Once we get 800 people to "like" the DeNami Design page on Facebook, we'll be hosting a giveaway! Be sure to pass along the news.....who knows, if we surpass this number quickly we may host a few giveaways. :)
