Delightful Gift Jar Set

Hi Friends,

I love giving gifts. Making them is even more special. I will often take something very simple and then add my handmade touches to it with a tag, or embellish with accessories or handstamp packaging to match.

Hello Everyone, Tina from DeNami Addict here. Today I have a fun and easy little gift set to show you. Mason jars have been around for ages and have recently become all the rage from food storage, decorating the house to sipping some ice cold lemonade. Did you know they work wonderfully for gift giving also? You can dress up and put just about anything inside from dry ingredients for a batch of yummy cookies to fun little trinkets as I’ve done here.

And what’s cuter than a little card to match, right? For the card I started out with an A2 sized red card base then layered on a piece of chocolate and finally another piece of red that I dry embossed with a polka dot embossing folder (HINT: try out DeNami’s DA-1215-59Dot Embossing Folder). I cut a strip of chocolate cardstock a little wider than the ribbon I wanted to use and edge punched one edge before giving  it a pretty little bow treatment. I then adhered it to the card base. I punched and stacked scallop circles in chocolate (2 ½”) and red (2”) then added a white one (1 1/2”) that I had stamped with the D175 Candy Cane Chickie, Happy Holidays sentiment from the PF63 ChristmasGreetings Petit Fours set and the I53 Medium Dot Circle frame (don’t forget all the wonderful circle sentiment frames that DeNami carries also). I added this to the front of the card with foam tape. To finish it all off I added some cute red twine from the TW005 Classic Twine pack and Christmas bells along with a bit of sequins.

For my little jar I simply cut a length of chocolate cardstock and wrapped it around the jar letting the ends meet in the front. I then added a length of the same red grosgrain ribbon I used on the card and again, let the ends meet in the front. I punched more circles from chocolate (2 ½”) and red (2”) then added a white one (1 ½”) that I had stamped using the D175 Candy Cane Chickie and  the I53 Medium Dot Circle. I adhered this little stack to the front of the jar covering/hiding the ends of the chocolate strip and ribbon. I punched another red (2”) and white (1 ½”) scallop circle, stamped the same sentiment (from the PF 63 Holiday Greetings set) and adhered it to the jar’s lid.  To finish it all off I added the same red twine (from the TW005 Classic Twine package) and Christmas jingle bells along with a bit of sequins.

As you can see, I filled my jar with lots of crafty goodies for a special friend. But think about all the possibilities with something like this, it’s truly endless – for example, you could change out the D175 Candy Cane Chickie for maybe the B108 Heart Chickie or the C69Valentine Chickie and fill the jar with candies for a sweet Valentine. There are a TON of Petit Four sentiments that would go perfect with that theme – PF26Assorted Greetings set, PF28 Heartfelt Greetings set or even the PF42 LoveSentiments set. You could also make a fun spring themed jar set for a friend or even Mother’s Day using the C72 Chickie With Flower or D152 Gardening Chickie and fill your jar with seed packets and even tie a little hand shovel or a pair of gardening gloves to the jar. There are so many things you can do for this super easy yet sweet little gift from the heart. Don’t forget about gift cards too, what a fun way give one…you can easily find a Chickie that would match any gift card theme you’re going for whether it be shopping, a restaurant or even a home improvement store!

Items Used:

I hope you enjoyed my little gift set and I hope you make a few of your own. I’d love to hear about what you put in your little jars – the possibilities are endless!
