Day 6 of DeNami's Sneak Peek Week- Baskets of Love

Hi Friends,

Card making is a way of bringing cheer. We have some lovely stamps to help you do just that. Today I'll be featuring baskets and wagons.

This basket is empty so you can fill it up with hearts, flowers, eggs, chicks, leaves or anything else you can think of. You can even cut off the basket handle to create a pot.

I enjoyed adding dimension to these cards since the cards were so simple. Notice the tiny bow to dress up the baskets and wagon.

Supplies needed:

CR01 Friends Forever Clear Stamp Set (available January 5, 2014)
B118 Little Hearts (available January 5, 2014)
B119 Little Bow (available January 5, 2014)
B120 Easter Eggs (available January 5, 2014)
E181 Little Basket (available January 5, 2014)
E182 Little Wagon (available January 5, 2014)
N109 Polka Dot Border
N129 Scallop Border
N136 Medium Polka Dot Background
F230 Solid Egg Border
M80 Elegant Oval Frame
J141 Whimsical Oval Frame
PC49 Lavender Cardstock
PC48 Petal Pink Cardstock
PC47 Celery Cardstock
PC21 White Cardstock
Ribbon
ATG Adhesive
Scissors
Exacto Knife

The basket is so versatile. There are so many things you can fill it up with. You can even add our iridescent shredds and fill it with the little eggs.

I stamped several of the clustered eggs and then cut out individual eggs and used mounting tape to pop them up.

Isn't the little bow the cutest? You can bend the ends forward so it looks more dimensional. You can put the bow on a puppy, bouquet, box, present, on a border, on corners and so many other places, even a background.

I popped up the wheels to give even more dimension.

To make the ribbon, cut a white strip of cardstock to whatever width you like. With Versafine Onyx Black, stamp scallop edge on one edge of the strip. Turn over and do the same on the other edge.
Stamp the Polka Dot border down the middle of the strip.

Take the Tombow marker and run the marker's edge down  the side of the ribbon.

For the Oval frame. After punching out, use an Exacto knife and cut the middle out, creating a fram.
Here is the frame with the opening cut out.

Turn over and add mounting tape to give dimension. Notice I tear the mounting tape and not cut it. It saves your scissors, plus it's faster. I used two layers of mounting tape.

For the flower background, take the clear flower from the Friends Forever Clear Stamp set. Starting in the middle of the card, add flowers to the right and left of it, continually adding to create a seamless pattern. Repeat below that row, offsetting it, as shown.

You can color the flowers in with markers to give more color.

You can easily add more backgrounds with the background stamps. The polka dotted background was stamped in VersaMagic Cloud White.

Here is what it looks like when finished.

Notice the dimension here?

Hope you enjoyed today's cards. How fun it is to make so many different things!
See you tomorrow for a very special surprise!
