Sail Away Gift Box

Hi Everyone!

Elizabeth here with another project for DeNami Design. Summer is here and everyone is having summer parties so I thought I would give you a great idea for a little party favor for your parties. I made a Sailboat Owl Gift Favor Box. If you are having a nautical themed party this will be perfect for you but you can easily change this for any party!

This is a quick and easy project so making them won’t take that long! To make this box I die cut the stripe using a milk carton die. To create the milk carton you will need 2 sheets of 6x6 paper. You want to make sure that you use a good quality paper so that the box will hold up. To assemble the box, I creased all the fold lines before I adhered everything together. I used my tape runner to assemble the box. For the Sailboat Owl, I stamped the Medium Dot Circle Frame in blue dye ink and then the Medium Sailboat Owl in black ink on smooth white cardstock. To color in the owl, I used Copic markers to do some quick coloring. I used a scalloped circle punch to cut out the owl and agreed it to the box with foam tape. I found some clothes line clips in my stash and there just happen to be yellow, so I used it to close the top of the box.

I hope that you like this project and that you get some ideas for any parties that you have this year!

Sending You Love Valentine Card

Hello DeNami Friends!

Today, I've got a Valentine card that is perfect to give a friend!  While at Starbucks the other day, I saw these cute heart gift cards, and I thought they would be so cute on a hand made card!  Immediately, I thought of 2 DeNami stamps that I thought would be perfect: CL-C118 Owl in a Tea Cup and CL-F171 Sending You Love.  I hope you like my non-traditional Valentine's day card!

I cut a piece of watercolor paper to make a top folding A2 sized card (11" x 4.5").  After scoring the paper in half, I masked off the back portion of the card base, and blended some coral ink.  I concentrated the color more on the bottom creating an ombre look.  Then I repeatedly stamped the Owl in a Tea Cup image with black ink.  On a few of the stamped images, I colored in the hearts with a glue pen, and sprinkled some Sparklets glitter on top.  After dusting off the excess, I set it aside to dry.  I die cut another piece of watercolor paper with  a rectangle stitched die.  I stamped my Sending You Love sentiment with Versamark ink and heat set with gold embossing powder.  I then popped up the sentiment piece up with foam tape and adhered it to the stamped coral card base.  I threaded some orange twine through the hole in the gift card, and attached it on top using just a tiny piece of foam tape, so it'll be easy for the recipient to remove.

Quick tip:  When repeatedly stamping, it's best to start in a corner and work out.  If you just randomly start stamping, you might get a few spots where your spacing is not quite right.

Adorable Valentine Owl Gift Box

Hello DeNami Friends!

Valentine’s day is coming up fast! If you need a quick and easy little gift for some one or for your kids to hand out at class this project is perfect for you!. I LOVE all DeNami’s valentine themed owls and you can use any of them for this project. This project takes about 10 minutes to complete one but you can easily mass produce if you want to do to make them for your kids class.

First, I used my milk carton die to cut out the box. You will need 2 pieces of the same paper and run it through you die cut machine twice to make the milk carton. To assemble the carton you can use any adhesive but I used a liquid adhesive. Leave the top of the carton open so that you can put treats or a small present in the carton. I stamped my owl and the “xoxo” on white cardstock in black ink. To color the owl, I used Copic Markers. I kept the coloring simple and didn’t do any shading because I didn’t think it was needed. I used a scalloped 1 1/2” circle punch to cut out the owl and adhered it to the carton with foam tape. I found these little clothes pins with Valentine sayings at my local craft store and used it to close the carton. TIP: for the clothes pin to hold the carton closed hold the lip of the carton and push downwards carefully. This will help the paper keep its shape and the clothes pin to keep the carton close. If you don’t do this there’s a good chance that the clothes pin will pop off! This happened to me a few times before I figured out! I hope that you enjoyed my project! Until next time!

Love Owl Valentine's Packaging and Tag

Hello, DeNami Friends!

It’s Lisa P kicking off another week of inspiration from the DT! This week we’re featuring DeNami’s totally adorable collection of Valentine’s Day Owls! Love, love, love these critters!!!

I bought a little Valentine’s Day gift for my 3-year-old niece and decided it would be fun to make my own hand-stamped wrapping paper. She loves owls (could have a little something to do with her mom working for the National Aviary), so it was a perfect fit for this week’s DT assignment.

I started by cutting a piece of white butcher paper big enough to fit the box I was going to wrap. Butcher paper is sold in rolls. I bought mine at Michael's, but if you Google it you can find other sources as well. I spread the paper out on my craft table and went to town stamping a bunch of Valentine’s Day Owls, hearts, and sentiments from DeNami’s Valentine’s Day Collection. I added color to the images with markers.

I used the paper to wrap my gift box:

Then, I created a coordinating tag. I die-cut some hearts from cardstock. I stamped one of the owl images in the center of the smallest heart and colored her with markers. I stamped Happy Valentine’s Day and To/From on the back of the scalloped heart and layered all of the hearts together. I added some sparkle with a clear glitter pen, punched a hole in the top and threaded some twine through. Here’s a look at the front and back of the tag:

To finish, I wrapped some baker’s twine around the gift package and attached the tag with a bow.

What do you think???

I hope you like my project for today and feel inspired to try hand-stamping your own wrapping paper!

Thanks for visiting!!!
