All About Layers- Day 3 "Congrats Owls"
4:00 AM
Hi DeNami friends,
This
week I created a card for you with a lot of layers. To create this card
I used stitched scallop rectangle and rectangle dies in different sizes
and for a bit of color I blended red ink on the largest and the third
largest layer and sprinkled it with water to get the ink to react and
lift to create this nice splatter effect.
After adhering the different layers together, I also wanted to include a sentiment. I used another die to cut the sentiment "congrats" from gold mirror card stock and adhered it to the second smallest layer.
To finish off the card I also adhered some gold sequins using tiny glue dots. I really prefer using glue dots over liquid glue because 1) I don't create a huge mess (which I usually do) and 2) I can remove them and stick them to another place when I am not satisfied with the look.
I hope you liked the card that I made this week! Have fun crafting!

Guest Blogger- Daniela Dobson "Birthday Owl Card"
4:00 AM
My
name is Daniela Dobson and I live in Dallas, TX. I am married to Peter and we
have a little boy, Alex, who is 8 years old. I have been scrapbooking and
cardmaking for over 15 years. I really enjoy challenges and strive to be
innovative. I love recording every day moments, especially now, with my
son. I
have always kept a record of my life through journaling and photos, and
scrapbooking allows me to combine those two. I don’t want to forget the
important and not so important moments. When I am not scrapbooking, you can find
me volunteering at my son’s school. I enjoy cooking, running, reading, and
watching TV.
Hello, it’s Daniela here and I am excited to be on the DeNami Design blog
today sharing a card I created with the Cupcake Owl Trio and Celebrating You
stamps.
To create my card I started by adding ink through a stencil onto a card
base. Then I added three different pieces of washi tape to the card front.
I added a gold flower rub-on at the top and a tag over the whole area. Under the
right side of the tag I tucked a gold polka dot banner. The image was stamped on
a die cut circle and colored with watercolor pencils. I inked the edges and
colored some of the circle with distress ink. The circle is adhered to the card
with 3D foam squares.
I stamped “Celebrating You” sentiment on a tag and adhered it to the card.
For the final I added touch three buttons and sprinkles of pink splatters.
Thanks so mush for stopping by today.

Same Card Three Ways Day 4
4:00 AM
Hello DeNami Friends!
Today I want to show you three birthday shaker cards made in three different colors. I started off die cutting a frame out of either pink, orange or red card stock as well as a rectangle that would fit perfectly in the frame out of white card stock. To create the shaker window I used another die that cut this beautiful wavy frame. Again, I die cut it from the three different colors.
Using scotch tape, I nested the wavy frame into its negative space and adhered it at the back of the white panel. I also cut a piece of acetate which was large enough to cover the window and glued it behind the frame. I also wanted to include a sentiment and what would be better than "celebrating you". Again, depending on the color of the card, I chose a matching ink to stamp the sentiment below the wavy frame.
To create the needed dimension for the shaker material, I used a few layers of foam tape. Luckily, I had some balloon confetti lying around which was just perfect for these cards.
To assemble the card I first adhered the outer frame to a standard note card, placed a few of the balloons in the area where the shaker window would be and then adhered down the white shaker panel.
Last but not least I included this cute little owl holding a balloon. I stamped him on mix media card stock using a black hybrid ink because I wanted to color him in with watercolor brush pens. After the coloring was done, I adhered him next to the sentiment using glue dots.

Same Cards Three Ways Day 3
4:00 AM
Hello DeNami Friends!
Today, I created 3 of the same cards in different color schemes using 2 DeNami
stamps: E205 Cupcake Owl Trio and J117 Medium Birthday Circle.
First, I
decided what color combinations I wanted to use. I made a navy/teal,
purple/pastel pink, and red/pink card. On a piece of white cardstock, I
stamped the Cupcake Owl Trio 3 times, leaving
plenty of space between them. I used Copic markers to color in the
images, keeping in mind the color combinations I decided on. Then,
using my glue pen and sparkle glitter, I added some shine to the poms on
the party hats and the heart on the cupcake wrap.
I set that aside to dry. Meanwhile, I die cut 3 rectangles from white
cardstock. Then, I die cut a circle out of each of the die
cut rectangles. Using ombre inks, I stamped the Medium Birthday Circle
around each die cut circle. Next, I cut out the Cupcake
Owls that I had colored. Using foam tape, I adhered the Birthday
circle stamped cardstock on top of the colored Cupcake owls, making sure
the owls were in the center of the circle. Then, I chose 3 patterned
papers to match my color schemes and die cut a
large rectangle out of each. I glued the patterned papers to each of
my white card bases, and then the Birthday & Owl panel on top. To
finish off my cards, I die cut some twine and small bows in coordinating
colored cardstock, and attached it to my card.
I trimmed off the excess, and added some glossy glue to the top of the
bows.
