Ayana's Favorite Things

Hello, DeNami friends!

Today it's time for Ayana's "Favorite Things" feature! We have had the privilege of having Ayana on the team for 10 months now. Each time she creates a DeNami card, I am blown away by her creativity and use of stamps! Her cards are usually filled with bright, happy colors, along with some fun accessories. (Her card on her blog today is NO exception)

Let's see Ayana's picks, shall we?

1) Filigree Centerpiece- When I look at the Filigree Centerpiece image, I simply think: “pure elegance”. I just adore the classiness and stylish design of this image. One of my favorite things to do is to stamp it down multiple times in order to create an elegant background for a card. However, it can still be used as a main focal point too. It really is such a beautiful design!

2) Teddy Bear- I absolutely adore this little bear for one single reason---> CUTENESS!!! He just makes me smile! I think he’s just so perfect for any baby cards or new arrivals, showers, etc. I used the “Teddy Bear” image once on some baby party favors, and it was just the perfect touch! You can color him in or even just paper-piece him together. One of the great things about this particular Teddy Bear image is the fact that it can be used for both a boy and/or a girl. There are no limitations when it comes to this adorable bear!

3) Large Winter Tree- I never realized just how many things one could create with just a single bare tree image. Immediately after the first time that I inked up the Large Winter Tree stamp, I figured out just how versatile this tree really was. In the past, I have transformed this tree into a “Rhinestone Tree”, an “Apple Tree”, and even a “Button Tree”. One can even add leaves to the tree using one of the various styles of leaves that DeNami also carries in a few of their Petit Fours collection. Depending on what leaf is used will determine what “season” the tree is appropriate for. I always love a stamp that can be used in more than one way! This Large Winter Tree image is definitely one of those kinds of stamps!

4) Boutique Buttons- Hands down, in comparison to many of the other stamp companies, DeNami has one of the most amazing assortments of buttons. They are offered in so many fabulous colors! My two favorite assortments are “Bubblegum” and “Espresso”. I just these boutique buttons and the variety in colors, shapes, textures, and sizes.

5) Polka Dot Background- I LOVE background stamps of all sorts. I also LOVE polka-dots of all sizes. That’s why I was beyond excited when I first saw this particular “Polka Dot Background” stamp. What more could I ask for? Two of my favorite things combined into one image!... Ahh, It was love at first sight! :)

Be sure to head over to Ayana's blog to see a card with some of her favorite products PLUS the way she stores her DeNami items!

I hope you all have a GREAT weekend. If you haven't already, be sure to check out the current DeNami challenge- we'd LOVE for you to join along in the fun!

Thinking of You Tree

Hello! Lisa P here sharing a little CAS creation. I was inspired by the graphic tree images I've been seeing in the stamping world and on fabrics, wall decals, etc. I was also influenced by the cooler temperatures and the leaves that are starting to change color here in the Colorado mountains.

NOT LISTED: patterned paper

To start, I stamped the Demi Double Circle onto patterned paper, cut it out and adhered it to a white card base. Then I stamped the Simple Tree image (one of my all-time favorites) making sure the branches were within the circle. I stamped a bunch of leaves from the Elegant Floral stamp set onto various patterned papers, fussy cut them, and adhered them to the tree with my Quickie Glue Pen.  To finish, I stamped the sentiment and added a few more leaves falling from the tree.

As I said above, my graphic tree was inspired by autumn, but this same idea would work for a variety of seasons by changing up the color and/or pattern within the circle, the presence or absence of leaves on the tree, the sentiment, etc. So many possibilities! I know I have some additional ideas in mind! Keep an eye on my blog to see some of those in the near future!

Thanks for stopping by!

Lisa's Favorite Things

Happy Friday to you!

Hasn't the design team blown you away this week? Each and every time they upload their cards, my jaw drops. They all have such unique styles and color combinations, but one thing they all share: they all ROCK DeNami stamps! Couldn't be more thrilled and proud to have them on our team.

I hope that you all have been enjoying the "Favorite Things" features! I know I personally love seeing each of the DT's choices, and then also seeing the cards they have created using some of their picks! Today I have the sweet Lisa's picks.....

1) Large Chickie- I have been known to dress this little guy/girl up for a variety of occasions! A leprechaun hat and shamrock for St. Patrick's Day, a diaper and bottle to welcome a new baby, a tie for Father's Day, a crown and eyelashes for a little princess birthday party---the possibilities are endless! And trust me...you will see Chickie in many more outfits on my blog in the near future!

2) Large Open Umbrella- I love this image because it's so whimsical and cute! It's perfect for paper piecing, which is one of my favorite techniques, or for coloring! It looks fabulous with a coat of Crystal Lacquer too! You can use it as a focal point or to create a background! You can jazz it up with glitter or by adhering rhinestones or pom-poms to the tips!

3) Large Winter Tree- The name of this tree may be Large Winter Tree, but with the help of the DeNami Design Petit Fours stamp sets you can really decorate this tree for any season or occasion! For example, the newly released Spring Chicks Stamp Set and Elegant Floral Stamp Set would be perfect for decorating a spring tree! And wouldn't the little eggs from the Easter Stamp Set look darling hanging from the branches of the tree for Easter?!?! And how about an apple tree for a special teacher using the Apples and Pears Stamp Set?!?!

4) Harlequin Border- This stamp creates really fun borders and backgrounds! I recently paired it up with the Stitched Border to make an argyle pattern and loved the results! It's also fun to dress up this pattern with glitter or by adding pearls or rhinestones or brads to the points of the diamonds!

5) Three Line Border- This stamp is so versatile that I find myself reaching for it again and again! It's perfect for creating stripes, plaids, and checkers! It looks great stamped in a single color or in multiple colors! You can glitter it up or leave it plain!

6) Everyday Greetings set- This is such a handy set to have because it includes sentiments that I use so frequently on cards and tags! Plus the fonts are absolutely ADORABLE!

7) Hearts set- The moment I saw this set my mind was racing with ideas about different ways to use it! I recently created a little flower by stamping the polka dot heart 4 times to create the petals of the flower and placing a brad in the center. My flower was bright pink, but if you used green ink instead it would make a fantastic shamrock for St. Patrick's Day! The hearts are also perfect for wedding cards and look so stunning when heat embossed in any color! They're also ideal for creating backgrounds or for layering with the Small Scallop Heart.

Wowee, so many great picks! I have to say, that Lisa chose some of our most popular stamps, so it's evident that YOU all love these ones too!  Be sure to head over to Lisa's blog to see a couple projects with these images and also see how she keeps track of her DeNami stamps!

I hope you all have a GREAT weekend. If you haven't already, be sure to check out the current DeNami challenge- we'd LOVE for you to join along in the fun!

Festive Christmas Tree Card

Hi Friends,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The end of Thanksgiving seems to mark the Christmas season upon us.
I love Christmas! My favorite part is all the fun and festivities. I like to make time for the simple things such as enjoying activities and making some homespun gifts and cards. I try not to make my cards too complicated so that I can enjoy the process and not stress get the better of me.

Today, DT Lisa created a lovely yet simple card that you can easily create and still have time for the fun of the season. You can change out the colors to suit your preferences such as making it a winter blue with silver accents, or monochromatic in black, grey and white. How about a pastel version? It doesn't take  too much to make this all your own.

Hopefully, this will inspire you to begin making your cards.

Hi there, DeNami Design friends! It’s Lisa P. Today I’m sharing a Christmas card that features the recently released CL-E196 Small Winter Star Tree. I love this darling little image, and it pairs up so perfectly with the whimsical fonts of DeNami Design’s holiday sentiment stamps!

To start, I die-cut two stitched rectangles from white cardstock. Then, I die-cut the bottom of one of the rectangles with one of the borders from PPPD04 Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders 1. This became my snowy hillside to “ground” my tree. I lined up the snowy hillside with the other stitched rectangle and made a small mark with a pencil, so I would know where to stamp the tree image. I stamped the tree image, colored it with markers and added some sparkle with a glitter pen. I then adhered the snowy hillside with foam squares and layered this panel up with a stitched rectangle die-cut from patterned paper and a blank white card that was also die-cut with stitching detail.

The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark ink onto a die-cut vellum banner, heat embossed with gold embossing powder, and attached to my focal panel with a strip of vellum adhesive. To finish, I added a few gold sequins.

Here’s a closer look:

I hope you like my card for today!

Have you started making your holiday cards yet?

Thanks for visiting!

Halloween Glitter Tree

Good morning!

It's hard to believe that there are only four days left in September! With October quickly approaching, we have some more fun Halloween inspiration to share!

Today's card features one of the most popular (and versatile) stamps from the new collection- the Large Winter Tree. This stamp is great for so many occasions, as you have seen from previous posts. I stamped the spider web from the Halloween stamp set, then made the spider "hang" from the tree.  Add lots of glitter, buttons and a fancy bow (click here for video tutorial) and you have a colorful Halloween card.

If you need more Halloween card inspiration, be sure to visit the links below:

Also, if you're wanting to create Halloween cards but don't have time to measure and cut all of your items, we have designed a super cute kit! The kits includes all the ribbons, cardstock and buttons that you'll need to create 10 cards- all you'll need is the stamps, adhesive and markers!

The sets are selling super quickly online, so be sure to get yours today! We'll be bringing them to some shows, but they may not make it to all the shows if they sell out!

Have a great Monday!

Michele's Favorite Things

Hello, DeNami friends!

It's time for our second installment of "Favorite Things"...this time, we are featuring our ever-so-talented, Michele!

1) Solid Decorative Crest- Oh how I adore this stamp!  It is lovely stamped repeatedly as a subtle background. Its fabulous on its own and bling added to it makes it even better! You can also stamp it 4 times around to create a medallion that is absolutely stunning!

2) Spring Chicks set- Just too adorable for words!

3) Large Winter Tree- Such a wonderful tree with its whimsical shape.  I have the best time decorating it.  The owls love sitting in it, as do the sweet little tweety birds :)  You can fill it with fruit or flowers or even buttons.  Its also fabulous in glitter!

4)  Apples & Pears set- Are you getting the whole tree theme here?  I love that there is both a solid and outline version of each.  Such fun background stamps and delightful on the tree too!  They are stunning when you add glitter to them!

5) Medium Polka Dots-I just love polka dots and this makes such a fun background! I also love that it makes wonderful patterns for paper piecing.

6)  Whimsical Flowers set- I use this set almost every time I play with my tree stamp.  The leaves are just perfect for fruit trees and the flowers are wonderful as backgrounds too.

I hope today's post inspired you to check out some new stamps, and also gave you an idea on how to  store your DeNami stamps. Be sure to head over to Michele's blog for a super cute card featuring some of her "Favorite Things"!

Have a wonderful weekend. We'll see you on Monday for the next DeNami challenge!

Winter Button Tree

Hello DeNami friends!

Today I have a card that was part of this seasons National Class program. We had a class called Buttons, Bows & Bling, which was a big hit. Don't you just love that name? As you can guess, we used our Boutique Buttons, rhinestones and ribbons. All things we LOVE here on the DeNami blog. :)

This card features the Winter Evergreen Tree, which tends to get overlooked by our other tree. I particularly love this image because it has lots of branches- perfect for adding extra elements! On the background we used the Snowflakes stamp set and the sentiment is from the Holiday Greetings stamp set. Add a few of the yummy Bubblegum buttons and you have a sweet holiday card.

You'll want to be sure to stop by the blog tomorrow. DeNami DT member, Michele and I (Paulina) have created some Hanukkah cards that we are excited to share! See you then!

Stamps: Winter Evergreen Tree, Snowflakes stamp set, Holiday Greetings stamp set

Ways With Washi #10

Hello there, DeNami Friends! It's Emily here today with my October edition of Ways With Washi.

I don't know about you, but every year I wish I had more time to make handmade gifts and decorations for Christmas. My problem is that I never start early enough, and once I start thinking, "Oh, maybe I should make something fun for Christmas," it's too late. All my other Christmas preparations are much too pressing, and I run out of time. So this year, I decided to start early. I know that we are still three days away from Halloween, but today I'm sharing a few ideas for jump starting your Christmas decorating with washi tape.

So, let's get to it!

For my first Christmas project today, I made a tabletop Christmas tree. This silver-and-aqua beauty stands about 7.5" tall. Can you spot the washi tape?

Starting with a Styrofoam cone, I covered the tree with overlapping circle punches. I chose two coordinating subtly patterned papers, dressing up some with overlapping strips of Musical Notes Washi tape and
stamping others with Teeny Star Background in silver ink before punching out the circles. I anchored each circle with a straight pin from my sewing supplies stash after glamming up the stock white pinheads with a bit of silver nail polish.

I finished off my tree with a loopy baker's twine bow (from the Summer Twine 3-pack) fastened to the treetop with a decorative stick pin and a tiny tag stamped with the Noel sentiment from the Christmas Greetings stamp set.

My second project is a Christmas tree ornament. I started with a clear flat ornament that I picked up for cheap at a local big box crafts store. Then I cut out poinsettia petals from Red Stripes Washi Tape and leaves from Lime/White Dots Washi Tape and adhered them to the face of the clear ornament. Can you guess how I made the petals and leaves look so uniform? I stamped a petal from the Whimsical Garden cling set on cardstock to use as a pattern for trimming my washi tape flower parts. A cluster of amber rhinestones creates a realistic-looking center to my poinsettia. I finished my ornament by stuffing it with some Multi Color Iridescent Shredds for a bit of sparkle.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here!
I hope you picked up a few ideas to use in your own Christmas decorating this year! Be sure to drop my blog, My Little Slice of Bliss, today for the chance to win a roll of washi tape of your very own.

Thanks for joining me today for some more Ways With Washi!

Christmas Gifts Day #1

Hello!

I'm so happy you stopped by today- it's the start of a brand new theme week! Since we are closing in on Christmas, I thought now would be a great time to showcase some fun projects that would make beautiful gifts this holiday season. Each day will be a different than the one before, but I'm hoping that all of them will inspire you and spark a little bit of creativity.

Today I have an item that is technically decor, but it would make an amazing gift that truly is a labor of love. I know many DeNami friends are self-proclaimed ribbon hoarders. We all have ribbon....in different hues, designs and width. Well, how about creating a pretty ribbon tree?

Tip: you can use your scrap ribbons and make a super colorful tree, or you can do it all color coordinated and uniform {like the one pictured}.

Have you created a ribbon tree before? Feel free to post your blog link in the comment section below, or leave a picture on the DeNami Facebook page! I would love to see your take on this pretty decor item!
