Gracias Chickie

Hello, DeNami Design friends! It's Lisa P here with a brand new installment of Chickie Couture! Can you believe this is my 17th Chickie Couture post?!?! Wowzers! THANK YOU to all of you who have been so supportive and left so many sweet comments on this feature over the past seventeen months! I have had SO MUCH FUN creating each and every one of these new chickies along the way!!!

To show my appreciation, please welcome Gracias Chickie:

I stamped the I60 Large Chickie image onto yellow cardstock. Then, I placed a piece of lightweight printer paper over top of him to hand draw his sombrero and maracas. I fussy cut the hand drawn elements from the printer paper and used them as templates to create the same elements from cardstock. I added color with markers and a touch of sparkle with a glitter pen. To finish, I cut everything out and added it to my card base along with some colorful cardstock strips and a simple "gracias" sentiment.

I think he's pretty darn cute! I hope you do too!

Now how about a GIVEAWAY?!?!

Just hop on over to my blog, Bellalistona, and leave a comment for a chance to win some ADORABLE DeNami Design goodies!

Have a FANTASTIC week!

Canoe Chickie

Hello, DeNami friends! Lisa P here with my newest installment of Chickie Couture!!

We're gearing up for summer here in the mountains, and that means lots of outdoor fun! Thus, the inspiration behind my creation for today! Here we go:

This time around, Chickie is hanging out in his canoe on a pristine lake at the base of the mountains! Ahhh...can't wait to be in his position...

I drew the canoe by hand and stamped it with the chevron border. I stamped the chickie image, added some color with markers, cut him out and placed him "in" the canoe with a hand-drawn wooden paddle. The mountains were hand-drawn on two different shades of gray cardstock, and some blue cardstock was added to create the lake at the base. And of course I just had to add some cute little clouds to complete the scene.

Here's a closer look:

I think this would make a great Father's Day card or a perfect birthday card for someone who loves the outdoors!

What do you think???

Now...how about a GIVEAWAY?!?!

Caveman Chickies!

Hello! Lisa P here with a brand new installment of Chickie Couture! Oh my goodness...I had LOTS of FUN with this one! I hope you like it!!!

Introducing Caveman (and Cave-woman) Chickie:

I can't help but giggle every time I look at them!

I stamped the Large Chickie image twice onto a cream cardstock panel and twice onto yellow cardstock scraps. I added some color to the yellow chickies with markers and then fussy cut them out. I drew their outfits by hand, "dressed" the chickies and then adhered them to the cream panel. I stamped the Doggie Bone, fussy cut it and tied some orange embroidery floss around it before adhering it to my Cave-woman Chickie. The club was drawn by hand and embossed with a woodgrain pattern.

Here's a closer look:

Don't they make a darling little couple?!?!

Leprechaun Chickie

Happy St. Patrick's Day, DeNami friends! Lisa P here with my latest installment of Chickie Couture. If you've been following my Chickie Couture Feature, you've seen Chickie dressed up in all kinds of different outfits, doing all kinds of fun activities. Well...let's just take a little lookie-loo at how Chickie celebrates St. Patrick's Day:

In honor of this super festive holiday, Leprechaun Chickie is sliding down a rainbow into a pot o' gold (gold sequins, that is) while shamrocks are falling from the sky! I wouldn't mind giving this little rainbow slide a try...how about you?!?!

To make the rainbow I cut a one inch strip of white cardstock. Then, I cut thin strips of cardstock (each measuring about 3/16") in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. I ran my tape runner over the white strip of cardstock, covering it completely, and then adhered the colored strips lining them up side by side. To finish it off, I trimmed off any excess white cardstock.

The pot o' gold is actually the H82 Medium Round Bowl stamped onto charcoal cardstock and cut out. I adhered it to the end of the rainbow with foam tape. Then, I squeezed some Crystal Lacquer onto the area above the "pot" and added the gold sequins.

Chickie was fussy cut and his legs were stamped separately so I could angle them upwards to give him a sliding effect. I hand drew his leprechaun hat and paper pieced the green band and glittery buckle.

I hope you like my Chickie Couture creation for today! Now how about a GIVEAWAY?!?!

Mardi Gras Chickie

Hello there! It's time for a brand new installment of Chickie Couture!!! This time around I was inspired by a festive holiday that's right around the corner---Fat Tuesday!

Yep, March 4th is Mardi Gras! And when I think of Mardi Gras I think of masks, beads, confetti, parades, music, food, and lots and LOTS of celebrating!!! And with that...I give you...

Mardi Gras Chickie!!!

Chickie is all decked out for the occasion in his fancy glittery mask and beads! And of course...I had to have confetti falling all around him!

Here's a closer look:

I created his mask from colored and glittered cardstocks. The "beads" for his necklace were made using a hole punch.

What do you think???

Are YOU ready to celebrate Mardi Gras?
Well, how about we celebrate with a prize package?!?! Hop on over to my blog for a chance to win some DeNami Design goodies!!!

Artistic Chickie

Hello! Lisa P. here with my first "Chickie Couture" feature of 2014! Last weekend my husband and I went to see the "Passport To Paris" exhibit at the Denver Art Museum---Monet, van Gogh, Renoir, Pissarro, etc. It was absolutely FABULOUS and so inspiring! I LOVED every minute of it!

With our museum adventure still fresh in my memory, I just couldn't resist creating Artistic Chickie:

I stamped the Large Chickie image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto yellow cardstock, added some touches of color with markers and cut him out. I placed a piece of lightweight paper over top of the stamped Chickie and drew his palette and paintbrush. Then, I cut out the pieces and used them as templates to create a palette and paintbrush from colored cardstock. All of the tiny pieces were then assembled/adhered using a Quickie Glue Pen.

I drew the easel onto brown kraft cardstock and cut it out. I then die-cut a rectangle from white cardstock for the canvas and stamped some images onto it from Whimsical Flowers Stamp Set and Love Sentiments Stamp Set. A true masterpiece, don't ya think?!?!

Finally, I adhered Chickie and his art easel onto a focal point panel, tied on some Spring Twine and attached it to a blank card.

Here's a closer look:

I hope you enjoyed this installment of "Chickie Couture." Now how about a GIVEAWAY?!?! Just hop on over to my blog, Bellalistona, and leave a comment for a chance to win some DeNami Design goodies!!!

Have a FANTASTIC week!
